FIELD: humidifiers.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a humidifier for increasing air humidity, and more specifically, to a humidifier that can control the supply of water from a water container to a water tank. The humidifier comprises a housing including a suction port and an outlet port; a water container installed in the casing and having an opening/closing valve; a water tank assembly comprising a water tank for holding water discharged from the water container; a humidifying element that performs humidification using the water placed in the water tank; a blower unit for generating an air-blowing force such that air introduced through the suction port can pass to the outlet port through an air flow path assembly formed between the suction port and the outlet port; a water supply control element mounted on the water tank assembly movable between an open position for opening the opening/closing valve and a closed position for closing the opening/closing valve; a water supply control element for moving the water supply control element; and a controller for controlling the operation of the water supply control element. Moreover, the water supply control element includes an area-forming element having a hole formed in it, a hole directing water released from the outlet of the opening/closing valve to the water tank assembly, and the area-forming element includes an area holding water discharged from the outlet when the case is tilted at a particular angle or more.

EFFECT: creating a humidifier that can control the supply of water from the water container to the water tank, and can also reduce the passage of water from the water tank when the casing is tilted.
