SUBSTANCE: manufacture of molds and cores, in particular methods for determining their physical and mechanical properties, and can be used in the preparation of cold-hardening mixtures. A method for assessing the survivability of cold-hardening mixtures includes the manufacture of a cold-hardening mixture and its preliminary compaction in a hollow billet. At the same time, the measurement of the survivability index is carried out using an installation containing a base with a mounting place for a hollow billet pre-filled with a cold-hardening mixture, a mechanical drive that raises and lowers the rotor with two crossing plates, an electric drive that rotates the rotor with two crossing plates. The connection of the rotor with an ammeter allows to register a change in the force of the direct current. Further, the transducer, which digitizes the readings of the ammeter, transmits the information to a computer, which records the information using the developed digital program in the time-current coordinates in the form of graphic images. In this case, the lower point of the slope of the current force curve indicates the time of the end of the survivability of the cold-hardening mixture, at which the strength of the mixture drops by 30% of the maximum strength.

EFFECT: development of a method for assessing the survivability of cold-hardening mixtures, which makes it possible to select the optimal composition of the cold-hardening mixture to ensure its necessary production properties and to digitalize the processes of mixture preparation in the manufacture of cores and casting molds under production conditions.
