SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to a method for producing methanol and a unit for its implementation. The proposed method includes the following stages: preliminary preparation of the source hydrocarbon gas, conversion of the prepared hydrocarbon gas with steam into synthesis gas; catalytic conversion of converted synthesis gas into methanol. The catalytic conversion is carried out in two stages using a flow cycle and a flow-circulation cycle under isothermal conditions with a copper-zinc catalyst at a pressure of 5.0-5.5 MPa and a temperature of 230-250°C. The method also includes the stage of separating methanol from the combined mixture of reaction gases obtained at the outlet of the technologically integrated flow and flow-circulation cycles. At the same time, during catalytic conversion, the converted synthesis gas heated by the heat of the reaction gases obtained at the outlet of the flow cycle is supplied to the inlet of the flow cycle, and the circulation gas is supplied to the inlet of the flow-circulation cycle, which is taken off during the release of methanol from the combined mixture of reaction gases heated by the heat of the reaction gases obtained at the outlet of the flow-circulation cycle.

EFFECT: increase in energy efficiency of the unit and the method while maintaining the quality of the synthesized methanol of at least 98% by weight.
