FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chain drives equipped with roller chains. A sprocket with asymmetrical teeth includes teeth with asymmetrically located rectilinear profiles of the working and occipital sides of the teeth. The sharpening angle γo of the occipital profile of the tooth is calculated according to the proposed dependence based on a free exit of the chain hinge from engagement with the sprocket, and the sharpening angle γw of the working profile of the tooth is calculated according to the proposed dependence from the condition of ensuring the minimum allowable thickness of the tooth on the circumference of the protrusions.
EFFECT: reasonable distribution of the load between the hinges of the chain and the teeth of the sprockets on their arcs of circumference.
