FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: use of at least one oligonucleotide primer in a method of detecting a virus in a biological fish sample is proposed. The genome of the said virus contains SEQ ID NO: 6 or a nucleic acid sequence at least 80% identical to it, or at least one of SEQ ID NO: 1-5 or a sequence that is at least 80% identical to it. The genome of the said virus contains a uracil base (U) instead of a thymine base (T). The primer contains a sequence of at least 12–40 consecutive nucleotides, and moreover, the specified sequence is complementary to the nucleic acid sequence contained in the genome of the specified virus. A method for detecting a virus and a kit for detecting a virus in a biological fish sample are proposed.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to detect a virus in a biological fish sample, the genome of which contains SEQ ID NO: 6 or a nucleic acid sequence at least 80% identical to it, or at least one of SEQ ID NO: 1-5 or a sequence that is at least 80% identical to it.
