FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for liquefying a gas, wherein the gas is cooled in indirect heat exchange with a refrigerant and at least one part of the refrigerant, after heat exchange with the gas, is subjected to compression using a drive (GT1) that generates waste heat, as well as partial or complete liquefaction. After partial or complete liquefaction, the first part of the refrigerant is subjected to heat exchange with the gas, and the second part of the refrigerant is sequentially subjected to increased pressure, heating using the waste heat of the drive (GT1) and vacuum with work, and then again delivered to partial or complete liquefaction. The corresponding unit is also the subject of the invention.
EFFECT: increasing the liquefaction efficiency.
