FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: split nerve can be surgically connected and the split axons can be spliced using serial solution delivery. A nerve treatment device for creating a fluid localization field around at least a section of an isolated nerve segment comprises an elongated body extending from the first end wall to a second end wall opposite the first end wall, containing an upper surface and having a longitudinal axis extending from the first end wall to the second end wall. The localization chamber is formed inside the elongated body, extends from the first end wall to the second end wall and contains a free volume intersecting with the upper surface to form an access area configured to accommodate an isolated nerve segment in the localization chamber. The localization chamber is configured to hold a volume of fluid within a free volume around at least a portion of the isolated nerve segment. The first end wall contains the first hole opened into the localization chamber, and the second end wall contains the second hole opened into the localization chamber. The first and second holes are configured to hold the first and the second ends of the isolated nerve segment, respectively, and to form fluid seals around the first and the second ends of the isolated nerve segment, respectively. The first end wall contains the first slot passing through the first end wall from the top surface to the first hole, and the second end wall contains the second slot passing through the second end wall from the top surface to the second hole, and at least a section of the first end wall is flexible and movable with an increase in the first width between the opposite edges of the first slot, so that it is possible to place the nerve through the first slit in the first hole, and at least a portion of the second end wall is flexible and movable with an increase in the second width between opposite edges of the second slot so that the nerve can be placed through the second slot in the second hole. A device for delivering a therapeutic solution for performing a procedure for reconstructing a divided nerve and a method for reconstructing a divided nerve are disclosed.
