FIELD: oceanographic measurements.

SUBSTANCE: invention is mainly intended for determining the wind speed over the sea surface. In the method of measuring wind in ship conditions, wind calculations in the geographic coordinate system are performed only after the vessel's manoeuvring are finished when the course changes within the measurement error of the wind direction, and before that, the readings previously calculated before the start of the manoeuvre are taken as true wind values.

EFFECT: increased reliability of wind data in the conditions of vessel manoeuvring.
