FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose latent mastitis in cows. Sampling of milk and their subsequent analysis are carried out. The activity of trypsin with N-benzoyl-DL-arginine-p-nitroanilide (BAPNA) substrate is determined in a fresh sample of milk obtained from an animal and in blood serum. The coefficient of health of the mammary gland (HMW) is calculated as the ratio of trypsin activity in blood serum (TK) to trypsin activity in fresh milk sample (TM): ZMZH=TC/TM, where ZMZH — a coefficient of health of the mammary gland; TC — the activity of trypsin in the blood, units/l; ТМ — trypsin activity in milk, units/l. If the value of the MMZH is less than the physiological norm of 1.1, mastitis is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables early diagnosis of mastitis which makes it possible to determine latent forms of mastitis before clinical signs appear in animals, which makes it possible to avoid complications and reduce the time for mastitis treatment, by determining trypsin activity in blood serum and in a fresh sample of milk obtained from an animal.
