FIELD: measuring devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for constructing a local vertical according to the image of the Earth's horizon during orientation and navigation of spacecraft. The image of the Earth is formed as a ring using a panoramic mirror lens. The generated image is transferred to a photodetector matrix, the elements of which are combined into rows and columns. At the same time, the offset of the energy centre of the annular image of the Earth relative to the centre of the angular field of the optical system is determined from the signals of rows and columns using the centroid algorithm, which determines the angular deviations from the vertical along two axes.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of building a local vertical while simplifying the procedure for building it.
