SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to a composition containing cellulose and a tablet. The cellulose-based composition for the tablet production contains cellulose and cello-oligosaccharides from trisaccharides to heptasaccharides, which are a water-soluble substance, in which the content of cello-oligosaccharides per 5 g of the cellulose-based composition is at least 1.5 mg, but not more than 9.0 mg. A tablet containing the cellulose-based composition and at least one active ingredient is also claimed, wherein the proportion of the mixture of the cellulose-based composition is at least 1% by weight, but not more than 90% by weight.

EFFECT: possibility to create a cellulose-based tablet which has a suitable hardness and sufficient suppression of both variation in the content of the active ingredient and moulding failure during the tableting process.
