FIELD: propellers in a fluid medium.

SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at ensuring self-adjustment of the blades to the optimal angle of attack. Propulsion unit in fluid comprises at least one blade pivotally connected to the drive equipped with an additional wing-like element rigidly connected to the blade itself. The hinge of the blade attachment allows it to rotate freely, and the axis of rotation is between the point of application of the resultant hydrodynamic forces or the centre of pressure of the blade without plumage and the centre of pressure of the same blade with an additional wing-like element obtained from the linear theory.

EFFECT: increased lift and thrust for hydrofoil craft.
