FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for acoustic testing of an automobile electric generator. At the first stage of testing, the electric generator is installed on the support stand of the acoustic test stand and the tension of the generator belt drive is adjusted according to the natural frequency of the belt oscillations. At the second stage of testing, measuring microphones are installed and connected to recording and analysing equipment. In the process of simulating the operation of the electric generator with and without load, the acoustic characteristics of the generator are recorded. The noise-generating parts/assemblies of the electric generator under testing are gradually cross-replaced with similar ones from the electric generator taken as a reference sample, after each of the replacements, the activities of the first and second stages is repeated. After completing the cross-replacement of noise-generating parts / assemblies of the tested electric generator and completing the registration of the acoustic characteristics changed due to the replacement of parts / assemblies, the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the testing is performed, on the basis of which the source of increased noise is identified.
EFFECT: detection / identification of sources of increased noise of small-sized electric generators.
