FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an Arctic vessel containing a cooling water control system, and a method for controlling cooling water for it. The Arctic vessel contains: a sea chest, made with the possibility of receiving sea water from outside the vessel and with the possibility of its storage; ballast tank of the engine room, made in the ship's hull with the possibility of storing sea water; a heat generator configured to generate heat when receiving energy for the operation of the vessel; a heat exchanger capable of exchanging heat between the heat transfer medium heated in the heat generator and sea water to cool the heat transfer medium, which at the same time heats said sea water; a main sea water pump configured to supply sea water from the sea chest or engine room ballast tank to the heat exchanger; moreover, under normal conditions, when icing does not occur in the sea box, the sea water stored in the sea water box is supplied to the heat exchanger using the main sea water pump, and in emergency conditions, when icing occurs in the sea water box, to the heat exchanger using the main pump for sea water, sea water stored in the ballast tank of the engine room is supplied.
EFFECT: possibility of uninterrupted supply of cooling sea water even in the presence of icing on the ship in polar conditions.
