SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in the diagnosis and monitoring of the effectiveness of the treatment of chronic apical periodontitis of single-rooted and multi-rooted teeth. K-file endodontic instrument is inserted into the root canal to a working length up to the physiological apex of the tooth, then the active electrode of the jolmetric measuring complex is fixed to the file, the passive electrode is placed on the lip on the opposite side of the tooth under study, then the current work is measured at 1 μA for 1 second. By changing the current work parameter in time, the dynamics of the inflammatory process and the effectiveness of the CAP treatment are assessed. The change in the current work indicators in time towards an increase indicates the presence of an inflammatory process in the periodontal tissues, and the change towards a decrease is characterized as a decrease in the activity of the inflammatory process.

EFFECT: by determining the activity and dynamics of the inflammatory process the method allows to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment and determine the indications for permanent obturation of the root canal system.
