FIELD: catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing an ammonia decomposition catalyst, which includes applying to the surface of the carrier by plasma spraying, first, a powder composition for forming an adhesive layer and then a powder composition for forming a catalytically active layer, followed by the formation of an activator layer, according to the invention, additionally, after the formation of the activator layer, the catalyst is reduced in a stream hydrogen at temperatures of 300-500°C, while aluminum-nickel powder is used as a powder composition for forming an adhesive layer, ZrO2 or Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 or their mixtures are used as a powder composition for forming a catalytically active layer, and the formation of an activator layer is carried out by impregnating the prepared carrier with an active precursor component - a solution of the ruthenium complex [Ru[(NH3)nClm]OHp, where n=5-6, m=0-1, p=1-2.
EFFECT: creation of an efficient and thermostable catalyst for producing hydrogen from ammonia with the possibility of resistive heating of the catalyst.
