FIELD: inorganic compounds technology and oxidation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention provides catalyst for oxidation ammonia into nitrous oxide by oxygen or oxygen-containing gas, which catalyst includes manganese-containing component, iron oxide, and aluminum oxide, said active component being a composition representing (i) mixed amorphous oxide phase with non-stoichiometric analysis: MnRxOy(0,05≤x≤2,24; 2,08≤y≤536) wherein R denotes bismuth and/or lanthanoid, or (ii) mixture of amorphous phase MnRxOy and crystalline manganese-containing phase and crystalline manganese-containing phase, and also iron oxide. Oxidation of ammonia in presence of above described catalyst is conducted at 250-450 C.
