FIELD: pure hydrogen obtaining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes for obtaining pure hydrogen from ammonia, in particular, to the creation of nanostructured catalysts for the decomposition of ammonia on carbonized oxide carriers, suitable for creating miniature devices for household applications. A catalyst for the decomposition of ammonia is proposed, as well as a method for its preparation, characterized in that, first, fibrous γ-alumina is covered with a thin layer of carbon by pyrolytic decomposition of hydrocarbons; then the carbonized support is impregnated with an aqueous solution of the ruthenium complex [Ru[(NH3)nClm]OHp, where n=5-6, m=0-1, p=1-2, dried in air in the temperature range 110-120°C for for at least 3 hours and reduce in a stream of H2 in the temperature range of 400–500°C for at least 4 hours. Next, barium is applied to the resulting sample by impregnation with an aqueous solution of barium acetate, dried in air in the temperature range of 110–120°C for not less than 3 h, calcined in a flow of Ar at a temperature not lower than 400°C for at least 2 h and reduced in a flow of H2 in the temperature range of 400-500°C for at least 2 h. The catalyst includes 4 wt.% Ru, 2.7-13.7 wt.% Ba, carrier - carbonized fibrous γ-alumina - the rest.

EFFECT: high specific productivity for hydrogen with a sufficient degree of ammonia decomposition at a process temperature of 440-500°C.
