FIELD: flow metering.
SUBSTANCE: solution relates to a device for measuring the flow rate in a high temperature pipe. The device comprises the first and second waveguides configured for connection with the pipe; and first and second transducers configured to be connected to the first and second waveguides, respectively, and capable of exchanging ultrasonic wave signals through the first and second waveguides, the pipe, and the fluid flowing in the pipe; moreover, the temperature of the fluid flowing in the pipe exceeds 600°C. Moreover, the first and second waveguides are made and have such a shape that: (i) isolate the first and second transducers from the pipe; and (ii) allow ultrasonic wave signals to pass between the pipe and the first and second transducers, respectively, while maintaining acoustic attenuation in the first and second waveguides at an acceptable level that is low enough to allow ultrasonic wave signals from one of the transducers to pass through waveguides and detecting them by another transducer, so that the temperature of the fluid flowing in the pipe does not adversely affect the ability of the first and second transducers to exchange ultrasonic wave signals.
EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of the device for measuring flow in a high-temperature pipe.
