FIELD: ultrasonic tomography.

SUBSTANCE: antenna array is placed on the surface of the test object, ultrasonic signals are emitted independently by each element of the array, reflected ultrasonic signals are recorded by all elements of the antenna array, the image of the internal structure of the test object is reconstructed in turn for each visualized point, whereas a flexible antenna array is used, which is placed closely on the surface of the test object placed in the immersion bath with an external curvilinear or flat surface, an acoustic sensor is placed on the reverse side of the flexible antenna array so that it is located in the immersion liquid, and the flexible antenna array is completely located in its acoustic field, ultrasonic signals emitted in the opposite direction by each element of the flexible antenna array are received, converted into electrical signals, which are amplified, digitized and stored, the distance from each element of the flexible antenna array to the acoustic sensor is determined by the propagation time of ultrasonic signals from each element of the flexible antenna array to the acoustic sensor, these data determine the coordinates of the elements of the flexible antenna array and the obtained values are used for image reconstruction by digital focusing, the total signal is detected, the maximum value is stored in the image memory, and then encoded in grayscale or colour for display on the display screen.
