FIELD: medicine; experimental surgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a method of implanting a carbon implant (scaffold) into the femur of a Balb/c mouse for osteosynthesis and endoprosthesis. The dissection of the skin and muscles of the thigh is carried out in layers parallel to the hip bone for 13 mm. The beginning of the incision is made 5 mm lower in the area of the articulation of the pelvic and femoral bones, moving the subcutaneous muscle of the tibia with surgical tweezers, and using a surgical drill with a diameter of 2 mm, 3 mm lower from the third trochanter and 4 mm higher from the facet of the sesamoid bones of the gastrocnemius muscle damage to the periosteum and upper layer of bone tissue 3 mm long and 1 mm deep on the body of the femur is performed. A carbon implant 10 mm long is applied, fixed with two ligature knots at a distance of 4 mm from each other. The biceps femoris muscle is sutured, the postoperative wound is sutured with an interrupted suture.
EFFECT: method enables implantation of a nanostructured coating of amorphous carbon (scaffold) into the femur of a Balb/c mouse to replace post-resection bone defects without the risk of complications in the form of mechanical conflicts at the bone-implant interface, in particular, bone tissue resorption due to the greater deforming ability of the implant within physiological limits.
