METHOD OF PREPARATION FOR EXAMINATION AND STORAGE OF SKIN PREPARATIONS WITH MECHANICAL DAMAGE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/50 A61L2/00

Abstract RU 2799248 C1

FIELD: forensic medical examination.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in medical forensics in detailed tracing diagnostic and identification studies of human skin preparations with traces of damage in case of mechanical injury by blunt and sharp objects, as well as in cases of gunshot and explosive injury. The invention relates to the preparation for the study and storage of skin preparations with mechanical damage. A canned preparation of human skin with mechanical damage is soaked in a solution of the following composition: 50 ml of propylene glycol, 500 ml of glycerin, 96°–150 ml of ethyl alcohol, 80 g of sodium chloride, 1.5 g of sodium benzoate, up to 1,000 ml of distilled water, at room temperature for at least 5 days until tissue hyperhydration is achieved. After visual and microscopic examination of the skin preparation using a tool with a blunt flattened working part, the skin preparation is mechanically separated into two layers: epidermis and dermis. A layer of wet epidermis is placed and spread out on a transparent substrate made of a polymeric material for further visual and microscopic examination of the preparation. After visual and microscopic examination, the epidermal preparation is dried and placed together with the substrate for archival storage in a dry, dark place at room temperature. If it is required to repeat the study, the epidermal preparation is pre-soaked in an aqueous medium.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to mechanically separate the main layers of the skin from each other for their additional examination in an isolated form, and to increase the accuracy of determining the linear parameters of the traumatic instrument.
