FIELD: selective well operations.

SUBSTANCE: Y-shaped block for providing access to the main and lateral wellbores comprises a housing, a single first channel, the second and third separate channels. The housing is a one-piece element and has a first end and a second opposite end. The single first channel extends into the specified one-piece element from the first end. The single first channel defines the first centreline. The second and third separate channels pass into the specified one-piece element and branch off from the single first channel. The second channel defines a second centreline, and the third channel defines a third centreline, with the second and third centreline at an angle to each other. The multilateral connection for providing access to the main and lateral wellbores contains a Y-shaped block, a branch of the main channel connected to the second channel for passing into the main wellbore, and a side channel branch connected to the third channel for passing into the lateral wellbore. The downhole system comprises a main wellbore, a lateral wellbore extending from the main wellbore, and a multilateral connection. The multilateral connection is located at the intersection of the main wellbore and the lateral wellbore.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of selective access to the main and lateral wellbores.
