SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to operations carried out in wells for selective access to certain areas of the wellbore. A method for accessing a well system includes placing a multi-well connection using a running tool in the immediate vicinity of the intersection of the main wellbore and a side wellbore, removing the running tool from the wellbore after placing the multi-well connection in the immediate vicinity of said intersection, selective access to at least one of the main wellbore or lateral wellbore using the frac string through the y-block after removing the running tool from the wellbore. The multi-barrel connection contains a y-shaped block. The y-shaped block includes a body having a first end and a second opposite end, a single first channel extending into the body from the first end, and second and third separate channels extending into the body and branching from the single first channel. The single first channel defines the first centerline. The second channel defines the second centerline, and the third trunk defines the third centerline. The branch of the main channel is connected to the second channel and passes into the main borehole, the branch of the side channel is connected to the third channel and passes into the side borehole.
EFFECT: improves the efficiency of access to all lateral well bores.
