FIELD: selective operations in a wellbore.
SUBSTANCE: branch of a multi-junction channel for providing access to the trunks of a multi-junction well contains a solid body having a first end and a second opposite end defining a length (L), and three or more channels formed in the solid body and extending along a length (L). Three or more of said channels of the solid body are configured to extend into the lateral wellbore near the connection between the lateral wellbore and the main wellbore. The multi-lateral connection for providing access to the trunks of a multi-lateral well contains a y-shaped block, a branch of the main channel and a branch of the side channel. The Y-shaped block consists of a housing, a single first drain, second and third separate drains. The housing has a first end and a second opposite end. The single first drain extends into the housing from the first end. The second and third separate channels extend into the housing and branch off from the single first drain. The branch of the main channel is connected to a second channel for passage into the main wellbore. The branch of the side channel is connected to the third channel for passage into the side borehole. The well system includes a main wellbore, a lateral wellbore, and a multilateral connection located at the intersection of the main wellbore and the lateral wellbore.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of selective access to the main and lateral wellbores.
