FIELD: remote voting methods.

SUBSTANCE: remote electronic voting method comprises the steps of forming a database of banknotes containing a series and a number; switching the functionality of the payment terminal to the voting mode, provided that it is impossible to use the camera of the payment terminal, which makes it possible to link the result of voting with the identity of the voter; accept a banknote, read its series and number and establish authenticity; if the banknote is authenticated, the read series and banknote number are compared with the banknote database; in the case of a match, voting by fixing the choice by the voter with the input device of the payment terminal; store the voting results in a database.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of voting using a payment terminal operating in two modes, with identification of the subject as a client of the payment system during transactions and identification of the same subject as an impersonal voter during voting, during which the anonymity of the voter is ensured by using the banknote as a unique identifier protected from forgery and the impossibility of using systems and devices that allow linking the voting result with the voter's personal data.
