FIELD: oil refining and petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to diesel fuel, one of the most in-demand petroleum products in the world and Russian markets. Claimed method is for producing a peroxide cetane-enhancing additive for diesel fuel based on isopropylbenzene hydroperoxide. Technical isopropylbenzene hydroperoxide is used as a raw material for the production of additives, which is an intermediate product of the industrial production of phenol and acetone, containing 87-92 wt.% of isopropylbenzene hydroperoxide and trace amounts of dimethylphenylcarbinol, acetophenone, cumene and dicumyl peroxide. Technical isopropylbenzene hydroperoxide is sequentially mixed with acetone at a molar excess of acetone of 10-50% relative to the stoichiometrically required amount, and n-pentane, taken as an azeotrope-forming agent, in a mass ratio to the substances introduced into the reaction of (0.3- 0.8)/1. Alkylbenzenesulfonic acid or trifluoromethanesulfonic acid is added to the mixture at a concentration of 0.003-0.100 wt.%. The resulting reaction mass is kept stirred for 25-35 minutes, then the temperature is raised to 40-45°C and azeotropic distillation of the mixture of water-azeotrope-forming agent is carried out for 2-4 hours. Subsequent neutralization of the reaction mass is carried out, it is washed with water and low-boiling impurities are removed under vacuum until peroxyketal of 2,2-bis(cumylperoxy)propane is obtained in form of a light yellow oil with the content of the main substance being 78-95 wt.%, dicumyl peroxide 2-5 wt.%, organic impurities being the rest. As a result of implementation of the method, a peroxide cetane-enhancing additive for diesel fuel is obtained.
EFFECT: reduction in cost and simplification of the method for obtaining the additive due to the use of a technical industrial bulk intermediate product for the synthesis of phenol and acetone, which does not require a stage of isolation and purification, as a raw material source, increasing the yield of the target product.
