FIELD: catalyst materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing a dehydrogenation catalyst material, the method comprising preparing a chromium-based porous material on an alumina support containing at least 1000 ppm chromium (VI) in terms of the mass of the element; impregnation of a chromium-based material on an alumina carrier with an aqueous impregnating solution containing ascorbic acid, one or more elements selected from sodium, lithium and potassium, and chromium; and calcining the impregnated material to obtain a dehydrogenation catalyst material containing chromium in an amount in the range of 2.5 to 35 wt% and containing no more than 100 ppm of chromium(VI).
EFFECT: preparation of a chromium-aluminium dehydrogenation catalyst material containing a small or even undetectable amount of Cr (VI).
