SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the effectiveness of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The parameters of the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) questionnaire scales for gastroesophageal reflux syndrome (RS) and dyspeptic syndrome (IS), body mass index (BMI) and glycated hemoglobin concentration (HbA1c) are determined. The following is derived: a discriminant function having the form “Success of eradication = RS×0.144+IS×0.136+HbA1c×0.131+BMI×0.122 - 7.948”, where RS is the result of the GSRS questionnaire for gastroesophageal reflux syndrome, score; IS is result on the scale of the GSRS questionnaire for dyspeptic syndrome, score; BMI is body mass index, kg/m2; HbA1c is concentration of glycated hemoglobin, %. The numerical values of these indicators are placed in this equation. An eradication success rate of less than 2 predicts successful eradication of Helicobacter pylori. With an eradication success rate of more than or equal to 2, the ineffectiveness of the upcoming eradication therapy is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of simple and informative prediction of the effectiveness of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus by compiling a discriminant function based on easily determined clinical and laboratory parameters of a particular patient: RS and IS results according to the GSRS questionnaire, body mass index and concentration of glycated hemoglobin.
