SUBSTANCE: fastening device (100) for installing the sanitary ware (60) on the wall (50) contains a clamping body (10) for abutting against the inner wall (63) of the sanitary ware (60), a tightening element (40), a threaded hole (11) for inserting the tightening element (40) into the clamping body (10) and the connecting adapter (20) having a radial recess (22) with an inclined surface (21) for engagement with the tightening element (40). The connecting adapter (20) is made with the possibility of being inserted into the clamping body (10) and engaging with the fixing pin (51) fixed in the wall (50). The device (100) also contains at least two adjusting strips (13) running parallel to each other from the clamping body and extending in the axial direction (X) of the fastening device (100), a separate blocking piece (30) configured to be guided along the adjusting strips (13), and at least one groove (32) for engagement, the shape and dimensions of which correspond to each adjusting strip (13) to ensure that the blocking part (30) is guided along the adjusting strips (13). The adjusting strips (13) have a plurality of adjacent locking teeth (14) that provide one-sided movement of the locking piece (30) towards the clamping body (10) to reach the position of the fastening device (100) corresponding to the thickness of the inner wall (63). The fixing set contains the fixing device (100) described above and a fixing pin (51) intended for fixing in the wall (50). The method of installing the sanitary ware (60) on the wall (50) using the above-described fastening device (100) consists of the steps in which the clamping body (10) rests against the open end of the hole (61) of the fastening device on the sanitary ware (60), the locking piece (30) is guided along the adjusting strips (13) of the clamping body (10) until it stops at the other open end of the hole (61) of the fastening device on the sanitary ware (60), the parts of the adjusting strips (13), remaining behind the blocking piece (30), are cut off with a cutting tool. Next, attach the connecting adapter (20) of the fastener (100) to the fastening pin (51) fixed in the wall (50), place the sanitary ware (60) with the fastener (100) on the fastening pin (51) and align the threaded hole (11) and a radial recess (22) so that they face each other. Then the tightening element (40) with the radial recess (22) is inserted and tightened. Due to the presence of a radial recess (22), the tightening of the tightening element (40) exerts a pulling action on the coupling adapter (20) and a pushing action on the clamping body (10) in the axial direction relative to the fixing pin (51).
