FIELD: air and water purification.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to remove pollutants from a liquid or gaseous medium. The filter for removing pollutants from a liquid or gaseous medium includes a woven or non-woven sheet of entangled carbon nanotubes, characterized by the presence of two or more of the following properties: (i) a diameter of 2-20 μm, (ii) a length of 1-10 mm, (iii) a density of 0.7-1.9 g/cm3, (iv) an aspect ratio of at least 250,000, (v) an elongation to failure of about 1.8-7%, and (vi) a specific surface area of 100-300 m2/g, while the woven or non-woven sheet further includes an input for receiving electricity from a power source. A method for cleaning a liquid or gaseous medium containing one or more contaminants by bringing the liquid or gaseous medium into contact with a filter. The cabin air filter includes a housing with an inlet, an outlet and a cavity located between the inlet and outlet, and a woven or non-woven sheet of entangled carbon nanotubes located in the cavity.
EFFECT: improved filtering capacity and the possibility of simple and fast regeneration with minimal energy consumption.
