FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a biodegradable container for growing plants includes initial mixing of plant residues with water and a binder, repeated mixing with the addition of water to a mixture moisture content of 55-60%, forming a container in a mould, removing the container, and then drying. Before forming the container in the mould, the mixture is heated to a temperature of 90… 95°C, followed by cooling to ambient temperature. Crushed buckwheat husks are used as plant residues, and potato or corn starch, glycerine, boric acid, distilled water at the declared ratio of components are used as a binder.
EFFECT: improved quality of the biodegradable container due to increased polymerization rate and viscosity of the mixture, as well as preventing transmission of bacterial diseases to the seed material from the container material due to the use of buckwheat husks heat-treated in the process of obtaining buckwheat groats.
