FIELD: glass.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing synthetic diopside used in the production of electrical insulation and construction ceramic products, porcelain masses, as a filler for polymers and rubber, and as a raw material for the synthesis of pigments. Rice husk ash (RHA) crushed to the size of 25-125 mcm and dolomite with the particle size of 14-56 mcm are mixed with addition of boric acid in a planetary mill at the rotation speed of 200 rpm for 10 min at the following ratio of the components (wt.%): dolomite: RHA:boric acid 57:38:5. The mixture is baked in a laboratory furnace in corundum pot crucibles at the temperature of 1100°C for 3 h with the heating rate of 5°C/min, after which the furnace shall be turned off. The resulting product is cooled together with the furnace to the ambient temperature, and then it is crushed to the particle size of 30-50 nm. The yield of diopside is 97%.
EFFECT: lower sintering temperature of the mixture of components, reduced duration and simpler process of diopside production, as well as increased yield of the target product.
