TRANSPARENT COMPOSITION OF POLYPROPYLENE COPOLYMER WITH IMPACT RESISTANCE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC C08L23/10 C08K5/06 B65D1/00

Abstract RU 2801264 C2

FIELD: polymer compositions.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polypropylene polymer compositions having an improved balance of properties, in particular high transparency combined with high impact resistance. The polypropylene composition for the production of moulded articles contains a first-phase polymer containing a polypropylene random copolymer, wherein the polypropylene random copolymer includes ethylene in an amount of less than 4% by weight, a second-phase polymer containing a propylene-ethylene copolymer, including ethylene in an amount of 10% to 20% by weight and a clarifier in an amount of 0.2% to 5% by weight, wherein said clarifier contains a sorbitol acetal derivative of the following formula:

,

where R1-R5 contain the same or different fragments selected from hydrogen and C1-C3 alkyl. At the same time, the polypropylene composition is characterized by a melt flow index from 15 g/10 min to 30 g/10 min at a temperature of 230°C and a load of 2.16 kg, Gardner drop impact strength at 0°C from 300 in-lbs (33.9 J) to 500 in-lbs (56.5 J), and total cold xylene solubles from 15% to 30%. Moulded articles and storage containers formed from the polypropylene composition are also described.

EFFECT: impact resistance in combination with extremely low turbidity of samples from a polypropylene composition.
