SUBSTANCE: programmable synthesizers used, for example, for automatic measuring systems, and can be used to improve the accuracy of setting the frequency of a periodic signal at the output of program-controlled synthesizers. The essence of the claimed method of generating a signal with a given frequency of program-controlled synthesizers is that for calibration using control module 3 for program-controlled synthesizer 1, the discreteness of the change in the output frequency Fout =Ftc/2n and the multiplicity of the output frequency Fout frequency clock signal with a multiplicity of M=2n/K, where n is the capacity of the phase accumulator, and K is the frequency multiplication factor of the quartz oscillator, which are then set in control module 3 to control and correct the frequency of program-controlled synthesizer 1.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of frequency synthesis, providing the possibility of correcting the frequency of the clock generator of the program-controlled synthesizer during the calibration process.
