SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for surgical treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee joint. First, in the region of the proximal tibia, a skin incision 4 mm long, subcutaneous tissue and fascia to the periosteum is made. Then, transperiosteally, osteoperforation is performed with a drill with a diameter of 3.0 mm to a depth of 3.0 cm at four points located on the anterior surface of the tibia in a horizontal plane at a distance from the tuberosity of the tibia: 5 cm outward, 2 cm outward, 2 cm inward and 5 cm inward with a deviation of the drilling direction inward and outward, up and down by 15° to each side. After that, the drill is removed and the wounds are sutured. In the distal femur, its transperiosteal osteoperforation is performed with a skin incision 4 mm long to the periosteum and perforation with a 3.0 mm drill directed perpendicular to this layer to a depth of 3 cm at points located on the lateral surfaces of the condyles of the femur, while changing the direction of immersion of the drill up and downward, anteriorly and posteriorly by 15° to each side. The drill is removed and the wounds are sutured, followed by the introduction of a tantalum electret into the region of the internal or external condyle of the tibia with further suturing of the wounds.

EFFECT: method provides reduction of pain intensity and restoration of range of motion in the joint due to successive intramedullary decompression by osteoperforation of the articular end of the tibia and femur, as well as by implantation of a tantalum electret into the proximal tibia.
