FIELD: road construction.
SUBSTANCE: control the degree of compaction of crushed stone when carrying out repair and restoration work on a railway track or when conducting an examination of the quality of work performed during track surveys. The method for non-contact control of crushed stone density consists in monitoring the density of crushed stone during compaction by continuously measuring the current density value, using a device containing a measurement unit, a memory for storing information about the density values of crushed stone after the passage of the compacting mechanism and a computing device for implementing computational operations. The measurement unit, consisting of photo-video cameras, a lighting unit and a laser frame emitter for zoning the working area, captures the image of the upper layer of crushed stone, the information obtained is processed by a computing device, consisting of a primary processing and control unit connected by a direct connection, a data transmission unit, a positioning unit, a power supply unit, an interface and a central analysis unit, where the number of particles is counted, the density of particles located on the surface, their average diameter, the relative volume content of voids between particles and the relative volume content of particles are determined. The density of crushed stone is determined by the formula: Pg =ρp/((1-Wp)/Wp)+1), whereρp is the particle density (g/cm3); Wp - relative volume content of particles; Wv - relative volume content of voids between particles (m3), while the relative volume content of particles is determined by the formula: Wp = (Z0πdp2 )/6; where Z0 is the number of particles on the surface, dp is the average diameter of the particles in the array (m), the total volume of the soil mass Wp + Wv is taken equal to 1. The obtained crushed stone density values are compared with the required density value range established by the technical documentation during the work, and according to the results of the comparison, repair or construction work on compaction is corrected.
EFFECT: ensuring continuous and non-contact work to determine the density during the movement of the track machine, increasing the accuracy and stability of measurements when working in the field.
