FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for induction remelting of ferromanganese. Method includes creation of protective layer in furnace crucible by lining of lining mass in two stages. First step is performed by melting of iron or steel charge materials and removal of the obtained melt from the furnace. Second stage is carried out by loading to the bottom of the heated crucible of large pieces of ferromanganese fraction from more than 40 mm to 800 mm, until liquid-phase melt is obtained. Loading of charge materials by backfilling of pieces of ferromanganese of fraction 1–40 mm. Ferro-manganese melt is produced in furnace with secondary sintering of lining of crucible to obtain hardened protective layer in crucible. Up to 80 % of obtained ferromanganese melt is drained. Part of the melt is left in the furnace for further remelting. First and second sintering stages of lining materials are carried out at temperature of up to 2,500 °C. Composition of lining materials is selected from a group comprising the following components: Al2O3, SiO2, MgO, Fe2O3, TiO2, Cr2O3, SiC, CaO, ZrO2, FeCr2O4, FeAl2O4, MgAl2O4, P2O5.
EFFECT: invention ensures expansion of the stock nomenclature and increase in the furnace capacity.
