FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to production of crucible lining of vacuum induction furnace for melting of high-purity precision alloys. Method includes formation of main lining layer with lining of refractory lining and crucible walls by template, extraction of template, drying, sintering main lining layer, cooling, cleaning of inner surface of main layer, smoothing of defects and application of additional coating using mixture based on corundum and silicate binder and drying, wherein grouting and application of additional coating with thickness of 15–20 % of thickness of main lining layer are carried out with lining mass containing 10–15 wt% of liquid glass and 85–90 wt% mixture of powders of white electrocorundum as binder, note here that grain composition of white electrocorundide powder contains the following, wt%: fraction 0.20–0.12 mm – 40–50; fraction 0.04–0.02 mm – rest; after which lining is dried at temperature of 200–300 °C at 1.25±0.25 h per 5±0.1 mm of additional coating thickness.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the degree of contamination of the melt with components of the lining, as well as to exclude the need to carry out flushing melts when changing the grade of the melted alloy and to increase the crucible resistance and reliability.
