FIELD: gas turbine engines.
SUBSTANCE: method of monitoring the drive system of a movable element, in particular the movable element of the gas turbine engine, such as a nozzle or a blade, while the specified drive system contains a control device designed with the ability to transmit the specified position value to the first power cylinder and the second power cylinder, while each power cylinder is made with the ability to measure the position return in response to the specified value, with this method implemented in the monitoring system and contains: the first monitoring mode, in which deviations between the measurements of the return of the position of two power cylinders are detected; the second monitoring mode in which no deviations are detected between position return measurements of the two power cylinders; wherein the second monitoring mode is selected as soon as at least one of the two position return measurements is in a transitional phase.
EFFECT: detection of electrical drifts of the position return sensing circuit components, more robust error detection of the position return measurement of the actuating cylinders by overcoming the limitations associated with the expansion of the threshold and/or the delay, ability to improve problem tracking (monitoring) associated with detection of deviation problems.
