FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to radiological systems for x-ray visualization of radiation therapy complexes. A device for positioning an X-ray tube and a flat-panel detector, in which the central holder of the positioning system is located on the accelerator gantry and, at the same time, is equidistant from the extreme positions along the axis of rotation of the gantry. The central holder is mounted on two spherical bearings and is driven by an actuator with a self-braking screw pair. The actuator is attached to the gantry through a spherical joint or cardan shaft mechanism. Positioning occurs along the stops with the preload of the spring chuck, the preload of which is adjusted by setting the position of the end sensors on the body of the spring chuck. The position of the central holder is controlled using an absolute encoder with two measurement channels. Also the following is claimed: a method of positioning an X-ray tube and a flat-panel detector being a part of the specified positioning device, installed and rotating together with the L-shaped gantry of the accelerator relative to the horizontal axis. The X-ray tube and the flat-panel detector are mounted on a common positioning mechanism driven by the movement of the actuator rod.

EFFECT: reducing the number of drives used to simplify the movement design and improve the positioning accuracy of the components of x-ray imaging systems.
