SUBSTANCE: processing of metals by cutting, in particular the control of the machining process on grinding machines equipped with active control devices, used for the manufacture of bearing rings. A method for controlling the hole diameter during grinding on a grinding machine includes generating commands from an active control device (ACD) during the entire grinding cycle, measuring and synchronously in real time fixing hole diameter values, comparing them with a reference one, and issuing a command to change the grinding process. After the grinding process is completed, the abrasive wheel is removed from the zone of contact with the machined surface, then, simultaneously with the rotation of the machine spindle, the ACD probe is moved along the rotation axis by the length of the hole and its diameter is measured with a given discreteness.

EFFECT: timely detection of hole diameter deviation, improvement of the quality of products.
