FIELD: pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of the quantitative determination of a potential antitumor agent, being ethyl 6-nitro-7-(4'-nitrophenyl)-5-ethyl-4,7-dihydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxylate (compound 1) by voltammetry is disclosed. The said method includes the transfer of compound 1 from the sample into a non-aqueous solution and the introduction of an aliquot of the prepared solution of the analyzed sample into an electrochemical cell with a background electrolyte, followed by recording of cathodic current-voltage curves in a square-wave mode on a glassy carbon electrode, against the background of a mixed solution of Tris-HCl and ethanol (1:1) pH 7.5±0.1 with the physical removal of dissolved oxygen by passing an inert gas of argon in the range from (-0.30) to (-1.3) V at a potential sweep rate of 150 mV/s, a pulse amplitude of 80 mV, and the concentration of compound 1 is estimated by adding a standard solution of compound 1, measuring the area of the peak under the first recovery peak in the potential range from (-0.55) to (-0.75) V relative to the silver chloride electrode.

EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of a sensitive and express method of the quantitative voltammetric determination of compound 1 for future quality control of a medicinal product in production.
