]SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing porous materials for optical elements, contact lenses with such a material, and porous materials with a variable refractive index that can be manufactured using this method. A method for manufacturing a porous material is proposed, which includes the following steps: (i) obtaining particles, (ii) distributing particles in an array of the base material in the form of an optically transparent polymer, (iii) forming layers from the base material with particles, (iv) exposing said layers to radiation, (v) removing particles from the layers to form pores; and (vi) forming a porous material from these layers. The particles in step (i) are obtained from a material whose radiation absorption index used in step (iv) is greater than that of the base material. In step (iv), the particles are heated with said radiation and the base material around them is partially evaporated in such a way as to enable their recovery. In step (v), the formed pores are filled with a substance having a different refractive index than that of the base material. A material is obtained by this method and a contact lens containing it.

EFFECT: simplifying the manufacturing process of a porous material with desired optical properties, which can be used in a contact lens, and expanding the functionality of the porous material by increasing the variability of its optical properties.
