METHOD OF PREDICTING THE RISK OF DEVELOPING IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME IN PATIENTS AFTER SUFFERING ACUTE DIARRHEA OF BACTERIAL ETIOLOGY AND CHOOSING A TREATMENT STRATEGY Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/62 G01N33/92 A61K8/36 A61K47/36 A61P1/00

Abstract RU 2803008 C1

FIELD: medicine; gastroenterology; infectious diseases.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in patients after acute bacterial etiology diarrhea (ABDE) and to choose treatment tactics. On the 3rd day from the onset of the disease, determination of triglycerides, cholesterol and urea of the blood serum are performed in patients, the value of the function YIBS of the discriminant equation is determined according to the formula:

YIBS = -6.441 + 1.065 * XTG + 0.753 * Xcholesterol + 0.197 * Xurea, where

YIBS is a discriminant function that characterizes the probability of having IBS, XTG is the level of triglycerides in mmol/l, Xcholesterol is the level of cholesterol in mmol/l, Xurea is the level of urea in mmol/l. If the value of YIBS is equal to or more than 0.5375, a high risk of developing IBS is predicted and, in addition to therapy, Zakofalk is used 1 tablet 3 times a day for 30 days. If the value of YIBS is less than 0.5375, a low risk of developing IBS is predicted and therapy is carried out without the use of Zakofalk.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict the development of IBS in patients after ABDE and to select treatment tactics by determining lipid profile data and biochemical examination of the patient's blood serum in the acute period of the disease and timely prescribing preventive treatment.
