SUBSTANCE: swellable sulphur-containing fertilizer composition includes a plurality of jointly granulated fertilizer granules, each of these granules containing a basic fertilizer composition containing monoammonium phosphate (MAP), a source of elemental sulphur in an amount of from 0.1 to 20 wt% in terms of the weight of the fertilizer granule and hydrogel, while the hydrogel and elemental sulphur are included in the composition of the main fertilizer. The granules are configured to swell when introduced into the soil medium to disperse the source of elemental sulphur in the soil medium.

EFFECT: easier dispersion of elemental sulphur in the soil, which increases the surface area of elemental sulphur available for oxidation, and ultimately the consumption of sulphur by the plant.
