FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device for reducing the thermal contrast of light armored vehicles (LAV) with the underlying background includes compressed air cylinders located in the LAV housing, connected to the LAV engine compressor through an oil and moisture separator and to pipelines for supplying compressed air, a liquid tank with a filler neck connected to a compressed air supply pipeline through an ejector crane, and with a sprayer for supplying an air-liquid mixture to the window of the driver's observation device. The device is also equipped with additional liquid tanks with fillers attached on top of the machine body and connected pipelines for supplying compressed air through solenoid valves placed on them, with the possibility of supplying an air-liquid mixture to sprayers located on the LAV body above the engine-transmission compartment (ETC). The solenoid valves are connected to the temperature contrast sensor of the temperature difference between the armor plate of the ETC and the underlying background of the area on which the LAV is located, through the onboard network of the LAV.
EFFECT: reducing the temperature contrast of the object and the background by reducing the heating of the ETC during engine operation.
