FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for reducing thermal signature of light armoured vehicles (LAV). Reduction of thermal visibility is achieved by shielding the engine cooling system exhaust socket with a box with a casing and a funnel having heat-insulating properties, which diverts the gas flow behind the stern and reduces the heat cloud formed by the exhaust gases. Shielding plates are made from a composite heat-resistant material. Between the box and the casing, the presence of an air gap provides the passage of an air flow created during the movement of the machine and the funnel, which directs the air flow at angle of 90° to the flow of exhaust gases of the engine.
EFFECT: reduced intensity of infrared radiation of LAV gas flow in wavelength range from 3 to 5 mcm and from 8 to 14 mcm at various elevation angles.
