SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose comatose conditions in children. Additionally, the state of the anterior lens capsule is assessed in transmitted light using an ophthalmoscope, and when stripes of dashed opacities appear on the entire surface of the anterior lens capsule and the pupil width is 4–5 mm, the level of consciousness is diagnosed as coma II. With an increase in the density of stripes of dashed opacities on the surface of the anterior lens capsule and a pupil width of 6 mm not responding to light, the level of consciousness is diagnosed as coma III.
EFFECT: method allows to determine the effectiveness of therapeutic measures and to predict the course of the pathological process by evaluating the totality of the most significant indicators.
