FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: intended for diagnosing the prevalence of a neoplastic process in the pre-equatorial zone of the fundus. Ultrasonic biomicroscopy is performed. On a meridional echogram for an iridociliary or ciliary neoplasm, the distance from its distal border to the scleral spur is determined. For a choroidal neoplasm, the distance from its proximal border to the scleral spur. If the distance is more than 6 mm in case of iridociliary or ciliary localization of the neoplasm, the spread of the neoplastic process to the choroid is diagnosed. If the distance is less than 6 mm in case of a choroidal neoplasm, the spread of the neoplastic process from the choroid to the ciliary body is diagnosed.

EFFECT: optimization of treatment tactics by assessing the spread of neoplasms of the iridociliary zone and peripheral choroid to adjacent anatomical structures.
